10th December - PCS Executive Reach Out to Their Customers Throughout the Recession
As the recession continues to leave a trail of redundancies, a career management consultancy is reaching out to those in areas where help may not be so close to hand.

With unemployment figures continuing to rise, PCS Executive have expanded their network to come closer to their clients. Offices used to exist purely in major cities such as London, Manchester, and Edinburgh but as demand continues to increase for career management and outplacement services, they have spread their radius by introducing more localised offices.

Since July, the career management and outplacement consultancy has spread its reach, opening offices in Reading and Northampton as well as offices in Nottingham, Cambridge, Southampton and Sheffield.

Not only are historic offices expanding to cope with demand but PCS Executive are really listening to the needs of more localised areas by offering their services to commuter towns and smaller cities as more professionals and executives find themselves out of work and inconvenienced by travelling to major cities.

Marketing Manager, Caroline Dickin, has noticed a major change in the demographic of people approaching PCS. “Nearly 80% of our clients are out of work, compared to 80% in work this time last year,” she explained. “We’ve had to up our game and really connect with our customer base, giving them what they want as the recession continues to affect the job market.”

Not only have the number of offices increased but the free career events that PCS Executive organise have expanded to new cities. Reading and Bristol now host events in their respective city once a month. During the events, consultants give advice on how to maximise your career potential in the current climate and how trends in the unadvertised job market affect the approach to job searching.

These events give prospective clients a chance to meet with PCS in an informal environment, allowing individuals to discuss career management issues whilst in the presence of like-minded individuals.

‘The career events have worked really well as a taster to the way that PCS operate and the unconventional means to which we interact with the job market,’ Caroline furthered. ‘It’s an excellent opportunity to network as well as getting advice on routes to market from career professionals.’

With the recession hitting many businesses hard, career management and outplacement consultancies are in high demand from both career professionals facing redundancy and companies forced to restructure. PCS have really focused on the needs of those seeking support by expanding their network and reaching out to assist people in areas where support is not readily available.
